NEW YORK, NEW YORK (March 17, 2015) - Benjamin Moore, North America’s favorite paint, color and coatings brand, and Cosentino, a global leader in the production and distribution of natural stone, quartz, recycled and architectural surfaces, have joined in support of DIFFA’S 18th annual DINING BY DESIGN, an event in New York City benefiting organizations dedicated to HIV- and AIDS-related research. Public viewing runs from March 19 – 21 at Pier 92, and the event culminates with the fundraising Gala on March 23.
Channeling inspiration from Parisian speakeasies, interior designer and television personality Tyler Wisler will bring together colors from the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2015 palette, including the 2015 Color of the Year Guilford Green HC-116, and four natural stone-inspired hues of Dekton, Cosentino’s revolutionary ultra-compact surface—all to create a dynamic, engaging and luxurious space.
“Benjamin Moore is excited to once again participate in one of our industry’s most inspiring programs, which brings together the talents of so many brands and creative visions,” said Kimberlee Bradshaw, Managing Director of the Benjamin Moore Giving Moore Foundation. “Through our Foundation and first-ever partnership with Cosentino and the fabulous Tyler Wisler, we’re thrilled to bring to life an exquisite dining experience that supports DIFFA’s impactful work in the community.”
“Cosentino is honored to partner with Benjamin Moore, a fellow industry leader and long-time DIFFA supporter, and a design visionary like Tyler Wisler to support such an important cause,” said Lorenzo Marquez, Vice President of Marketing, Cosentino North America. “He had complete creative freedom, and we’re so excited to unveil how he combined vibrant colors and materials in creating this one-of-a-kind dining experience.”
Dekton by Cosentino, composed of porcelain, quartz and glass, will be applied to the space’s floors and tabletops. Three colors—Vegha, Sirius, and Kairos—combine on the floor for a modern take on a classic checkerboard pattern. Marble-inspired Dekton Aura will top ten bistro tables and will also grace the vignette’s performance stage, in keeping with its speakeasy ambiance.
For the perimeter walls, Wisler selected Benjamin Moore Aura® in Guilford Green HC-116 in a matte finish, along with Blue Danube 2062-30 and Universal Black 2118-10—a trio that showcases how pairing light and dark colors of paint can transform and enhance a space.
“Benjamin Moore paints and Dekton surfacing that I selected pair together so naturally, as both are versatile and durable, making an incredible impact on the look and feel of the space,” said Wisler. “During the design process, I relied on these superior products to create a space that was not only visually dynamic but functional and intimate.”
Construction of the vignette was completed by D Flatt and Maxsun Group built the banquette seating. Decorative elements of the space were furnished by Zia Priven, Palecek, Kravet, and Restoration Hardware, among others.
