Renowned interior designer Lori Paranjape is no stranger to creating world-class interiors for celebrities and athletes, and even inspiring the masses through her popular social media channels. This year, however, Paranjape took on her most personal project yet: her own home.

Embracing what she calls “the opportunity of a lifetime,” Paranjape worked with globally known brands, including Benjamin Moore and Luxe Interiors + Design, to create an airy, welcoming space for her family. Known as “The Paranjape Project,” her home came to life with eye-catching accents and, of course, stunning Benjamin Moore paint colours.

Designer Colour Palette: The Paranjape Project

To set the stage for her Nashville home, interior designer Lori Paranjape created an inviting, neutral colour palette featuring some of Benjamin Moore’s most versatile hues.

The Interior Designer: Lori Paranjape

Paranjape started her firm, Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors, in 2008, and built a following for her luxury designs both with her clients and her many fans on social media.

The Paranjape Project gave her the chance to find a Benjamin Moore colour scheme that meshed perfectly with her design plan. “Benjamin Moore came onto our project and said, ‘We are so in, we want to paint every surface,’” Paranjape says.

She started building her colour palette around Bleeker Beige HC-80, beloved for its versatility and pleasing gray undertones. Says Paranjape, “We used [it] on all of our common areas, hallways, and staircases. It’s still crisp even though it’s tan.”

The Perfect Neutral Kitchen

For her kitchen, Paranjape went with neutral wood cabinetry and matte black fixtures and hardware, opening up the space with Elmira White HC-84 on the ceiling.

“[It’s] important for me to tell you that [Elmira White HC-84] is not actually a white,” Paranjape says. “It’s really a rich tone that plays nicely with Bleeker Beige HC-80.”

Pops of Colour in the Pantry

In a striking deviation from the otherwise neutral kitchen, Paranjape’s full butler’s pantry features modern wallpaper and a burst of colour from Pink Mix 2089-30, a medium red with a unique hybrid of undertones, ranging from coral to terra-cotta. The retro checkerboard floor brings everything together.

A Cozy Bedroom Colour Scheme

Paranjape chose a beige-and-white colour combination for the primary bedroom. With deep neutral curtains and a chic Mrs. Paranjape Papers wallcovering, she ensured both sweet dreams and cohesion with the hues in her home’s common areas.

To further enhance the Zen of the space, Paranjape again opted for Elmira White HC-84 on the ceiling. Commonly considered “the fifth wall,” a painted ceiling, especially in a lighter paint colour, helps to visually expand the space and add subtle depth.

Rich Exterior Paint Colours Extend a Warm Welcome

For the exterior of her home, Paranjape went with a striking neutral with yellow-brown undertones. Paranjape describes Kangaroo AF-145 as “the cleanest, warmest, richest taupe-y brown colour that I could find.” A perfect match with the bronzed copper trim and decorative lanterns outside, the hue also blends seamlessly with the neutral hues inside the home, visible through the windows.

The entire renovation process left Paranjape and her family with a home—and paint colours—to cherish for years to come. “We get to live here, and it’s remarkable,” she says.
